About Weeklygame
How bad is Covid in your area? Tough question.
Most "how bad is it right now" tools stop at the state level. But a state is a big place, and the wave that's cresting in one region can be weeks away from another.
In most parts of the country, there's more data available, and it's sourced more finely than the state level. Weeklygame looks at the data centered around the point you pick and puts it all together.
Once a week, at the day and time you choose, it posts a short summary to your Discord channel: where Covid stands near you — and flu, and RSV too — and whether each one is rising or falling. You don't have to remember to check anything. It just shows up.
Every post links to an info page with a map of the wastewater sites and reporting areas the numbers came from, so you can see exactly what's feeding the summary and how close it is to you.
What you do with that is up to you. Some weeks you might mask on the train again; some weeks you might not think about it at all. Weeklygame doesn't tell you what to do. It just helps the information reach you before you have to go looking for it.
I'm Jamie McCarthy (hi!). I built this because my gaming group was posting Covid/Flu tests before our weekly games over the winter, and when it felt like we could stop, we kind of just went on vibes. We keep our Pathfinder character stats on the computer. Why not have the computer keep track of real-world stats in our community?
